Questions worth answering before a job starts.
How does CrewMonk verify workers?
CrewMonk uses a trust-tier ladder. New workers start at a baseline (phone + account) and unlock tiers as they verify: identity (Persona), criminal background check (Checkr), licenses against state databases, and insurance COI. Employers pick the tier each job requires — fast-match for routine work, background-checked and licensed for jobs that demand it.
When do workers get paid?
Employer funds go into escrow when a booking is confirmed. Payout releases after the shift is marked complete. Instant payout is available where supported.
1099 or W-2 — which should I choose?
It depends on the shift. CrewMonk supports both rails. If you need to control schedule, tools, and methods, W-2 is usually the safer classification. Independent project work is typically simpler on 1099.
What happens if there's a dispute?
Disputes use check-in photos, geolocation, booking status, and admin review. The goal is a fast resolution with evidence, not he-said-she-said.
Do you support crews?
Yes. Employers can request multiple workers on a shift. Crew workflows become more prominent as the market expands.
Is CrewMonk available nationwide?
CrewMonk is starting in Texas while state-specific compliance and licensing checks are completed for additional states.
